It takes a whole lot of us to make these cars from scrap. Thanks for being part!
There are about 20 steps of the process to make these little toys that go all over the world. We need a lot of volunteers to do this. When you come into the shop, we'll start you with a tour to show you why we do this and how it's all done. Then put you to work.
Every day is a little different. We have to look at what parts of the process need the most work done.
Younger groups will be asked to wheel the cars or trace the pattern for cutting. Teens and adults can paint the cars or work the machines.
If you want to work a machine you can bring your own personal protection equipment of gloves, masks, eye protection and ear protection.
Everyone should wear closed toe shoes no matter where you work.
We have a limited number of spots for people to work so we ask that groups schedule with us before coming in.
Keep in mind that we tend to run about 6 or 8 weeks ahead so plan accordingly.
We work Tuesdays and Thursdays, between 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm. On Wednesdays we work from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
We also come back in the evenings at 6:00 or 7:00 pm, also by appointment.
Shifts are usually about 1.5 hours. If you have a corporate or group need for 2 to 4 hours we gladly accept extra help.
You can make an appointment by email tinytimsfoundationforkids@gmail.com
or call or text Emilee at 801-520-0921
It costs us about $2 per toy to make. If you have the ability to donate for the cars you help make, we really appreciate it.
If your business has grants or grant matching, that helps a lot. Every child deserves a toy, and we need your help to make them, both by volunteering and donating.
